The wait for the newest version of iOS for selected iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices has finally ended, as reported by Pocket Gamer. If you have a qualifying unit, you can download iOS 8 today.

To join in the fun, you’ll need to open your Settings, select the General option, and activate the Software Update. Confirm your download and then wait for the inevitable events that follow.

You’ll want to make sure you have a lot of space available. The iPad version requires a whopping 6.9GB of storage to install, nearly half the total space available to many new iPad purchasers. It’s a good idea to make backups before you begin such an update.

According to Pocket Gamer, some of the features you can look forward to with the update are “custom keyboards, voice clip messages, sharing to third party apps, notification widgets, family sharing, iCloud Drive, health tracking, continuity with other devices, improved spotlight, and more.”
