This could be just the ticket if you’re looking for a little more from your endless runner…

The people at Sybo Games, which is the development team behind the hugely popular mobile title, Subway Surfers, are apparently not the sort to rest on their laurels. This week, the studio announced its next title, Blades of Brim, which is headed to the App Store in early June.

“Easy to pick up and play,” the press release notes, “Blades of Brim is a new generation endless runner, bringing fast-paced combat, a whole new crew of runners, and an epic and enchanting universe to the genre.”

At least in screenshots, Blades of Brim looks a bit like Nintendo’s semi-recent Kid Icarus revival for 3DS, sporting vibrant color palettes and nicely detailed character models that wouldn’t be out of place in that other world.

“In Blades of Brim,” the press release adds, “players can choose to be Zuma the Savage Beastman, Lilith the Trickster Demoness or many others, and go on heroic quests, battling enemies in a world of adventure where magic and mayhem are never far away.”

The foes they face are known as Goons. These are described as “armies of wizards who hide and wait, ready to ambush players from the cover of dungeons and valleys.”

The game will feature exactly the sort of elements you might expect from a game of its sort, including weapons, power-ups, and even mounts. You’ll be able to collect loot and upgrade characters as you advance, and the game supports both online and offline play for one player.

According to the press release, Blades of Brim will be available starting June 4th, as a free download supported by in-app purchases. If you’re looking for a more advanced endless runner, it sounds like it could be worth a look.
