To be with the one you love, you’ll have to take a road trip. Isn’t that always the way it goes?

Always Sometimes Monsters has finally arrived on mobile devices, reports Chloi Rad of Pocket Gamer. The title was apparently developed in RPG Maker, but don’t suppose that means it is just another cookie cutter effort.

“In Always Sometimes Monsters,” writes Rad, “you play someone who – after a series of misfortunes – decides to make a cross-country trip to win back your love. While the game starts you out in the same situation, it branches off into different paths depending on the decisions you make.”

Various aspects of your character can also make a difference. Rad notes that NPCs might respond differently depending on your gender, race, and even your sexual orientation.

Near launch, Always Sometimes Monsters is available at a discount on both the App Store and Google Play, so be sure to take advantage of that if you’re interested in taking a chance on something a little different…
